Jump in COVID-19 Cases in NC/No cases in Stokes County

According to data from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services and county health departments, North Carolina has at least 507 cases of coronavirus as of 8 a.m. yesterday. Officials say no deaths have occurred in the state. The number of cases reported each day is growing exponentially, as testing continues to ramp up in labs and health care facilities across the state. Nationally there have been more than 44,000 cases and 500 deaths. So far, there have been no cases reported in Stokes County. Surry County officials say a local resident had tested positive for the virus. Surry County Health and Nutrition Center’s staff is working to conduct contact tracing to further protect the health and well being of the county’s residents.
